The Sovereign Grand Master requests that lodges hold a memorial service of all deceased person in the past year and is to be to the closest to  the 2nd Monday of June.    Both Crusader 422 and   Golden Glow  299 held their memorial at the Wadestown United Methodist Church recently for two members of the  Golden Glow 299:   Wilma  Whittaker  and Faye Davis.

Wilma Whitaker had been a past Noble Grand  and the position that she loved the most was the position  of Chaplain.  She was noted for her friendly smile and willingness to work for the lodge and her church.   Faye Davis was also a Past Noble Grand  and she originally belonged to  Staely Lodge of Fairview and when it closed,  she became a member of Golden Glow.  Faye was a person who loved her lodge and her church.   She worked with so many clubs around  her home.  A third member,  Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of WV.   He was remembered in being the head of  the Grand Encampment and the Grand Lodge.  He was well respected in the Grand Lodge  and worked and chaired many committees of the Grand Lodge.  A fourth person was remembered a  Maxine Ford,  Past Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant lodge.

Many family members were present to view the services which were written and directed by Glendora Headley,  Past President. Sister Glendora has done this,  along with funeral home services  for many years.   The two lodges have never missed a year of doing this for at least the last 50 years.  No member in the lodge remembers a time that it was not done.

There were other members present who were not in the program.  Charlie  Carman took the photo for Rev. Davidson,  who played the piano for the group,  and provided the camera for this photo.   Several members were not able to attend:    Barbara Wagner,  Lillian Wagner,   Jeanette Robey  and Janet Sanders.
