i

It was 90 degrees in Charleston, a brief shower just added to the humidity.  As the speakers took their places the Honor Guard presented the colors.  Doris Carney gave a history of the flag.

Justice Thomas McHugh addressed the small crowd of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs that had assembled in the High Noon Sun.  He commented on the 200,000 veterans that answers the call to arms in the wars since 1917 to present.  One the inside of this walls are the names of over 11,000 service people who did not get to return to the Mountain State., and 30 plus West Virginian that heave not yet been added from the Gulf Wars and Afghanistan

Lucille Chandler served as General Chairman and Robert Stillwagoner, Grand Master and Doris Carney, Vice Presiden represented the Grand Lodge and Rebekah Assembly.

Rex Dewees Maryellen Stillwagoner, and Cleone Fansler Were the Hoor Guards.

I would say that on these walls are also the names of Odd Fellows who gave thier all for freedom..
