which is August 28.



Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 1 Honors Members

 

 

Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 1 recently celebrated two milestones for three of their members.

 

The 45th. Wedding Anniversary of Brother Phillip and Sister Norma Sparks and the 86th. Birthday of Sister Lorrain Beno were honored during their August meetings.

 

Brother Phillip and Sister Norma became Associate members of Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 1, Parkersburg, on December 2, 2008. Both are members of Amity Rebekah Lodge No. 83, St. Marys. Sister Norma is confined to a wheelchair and could not navigate the stairs of the St. Marys lodge hall.

 

Sister Norma was very active in the St. Marys lodge and Rebekah District No. 6, serving in many offices. She was installed as Noble Grand for Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 1 in July 2010. Brother Phillip is serving as Warden for Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 1 and as Noble Grand for Amity Rebekah Lodge No. 83.

 

Sister Lorrain has been a Rebekah for over 46 years, becoming a member of Esther Rebekah Lodge No. 32, Parkersburg on July 14, 1964. This lodge consolidated with Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 1 on May 4, 1981, where Sister Lorrain has served in many elective and appointive offices. Sister Lorrain was District Deputy President for Rebekah District No. 6 and is currently serving as Secretary of the District. She has served many terms as Noble Grand of Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 1.

 

Lady Lorrain has been active in the LAPM unit, Auxiliary Parkersburg No. 6 for several years and is currently serving as Secretary of the Auxiliary.

 

She completed a two-year term as President of the West Virginia Department Association, Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant in June 2010.

 

The membership of Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 1 are extremely proud of these Sisters and Brother who have served our Order for many years and continue to serve.
