PGP Kenny Casto passes.

 

Past Grand Patriarch Kenny Casto has Passed the Last Degree and now stands with his Brothers and sister in the Greatest Grand Lodge.

PHILIPPI — Kenneth Casto, age 81, a resident of Rt. 2, Tacy Community, Philippi, departed this life and escaped the torments of his physical body to live in eternal peace with his heavenly father on Friday, July 17, 2009.

He was born March 1, 1928, in Barbour County, a son of the late Hoy Abraham and Addie Wice (Callahan) Casto. He was united in marriage June 16, 1951, to Joan (Bolton) Casto, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Judy and husband Kent “Cricket” Simmons, Jane and husband Bill Floyd, both of Philippi; two sisters, Emma Smith of Philippi and Eleanor Jo Miller of Buckhannon; one brother, Robert Casto of Volga; granddaughters, Jamie Jo and husband Brian Carpenter of Junior, Candi and husband Bill Powers of Elkins, Jennifer and husband Daniel Collier of Mt. Liberty Community, Philippi, Crystal and husband Brian Schaefer of Coalton, Latisha Simmons and companion Josh Farrar of Moatsville; grandson, K.C. Hall and girlfriend Sable Weese; great-grandchildren, Samantha Jo Esposito, Kaitlyn Powers, Kyatt Bailey, Chase Collier, Addie Jo Powers, Teagan Schaefer; stepgreat-grandchildren, Cody Farrar, Niki Farrar; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Casto was preceded in death by three brothers, Hersel V., William D. and Charles J. Casto; three sisters, Vera Dickenson Overfield, Lucille Bailey, Hazel Ward; infant Raymond Casto; grandson William “Dubby” Jeffries III.

Mr. Casto retired from Martinka Coal Company as a car dropper with 22 years’ service.

He was a member of the I.O.O.F Lodge #59, Dorcas Rebakkah Lodge #275, Past Grand Patriarch of I.O.O.F. of WV, the Tacy Seniors, CEOS and past president of Tacy Community Association. He served several terms as a Member of the IOOF Homeboard.



Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, on Monday, July 20, from 5-8 p.m. Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. by the I.O.O.F Lodge #59. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, July 21, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 22, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., the service hour, with Rev. Jerry Boyce and Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery at Tacy.
