About the Grand Lodge of West Virginia

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) started in 1865 with the vision of PGM Thomas G. Steele, an Odd Fellow from the Jurisdiction of Virginia.  Brothers from the neighboring state formed the Odd Fellows in West Virginia shortly after the Civil War as part of a comradery.

The oldest lodge part of West Virginia is Virginia IOOF Lodge No. 1 located in historic, downtown Harpers Ferry (Jefferson County).
